The project had a final showcase at ‘Fusion’, the Nevis Centre on May 10th 2004. A large plasma screen was hired for the event and a series of digital stills were presented along with the films. All participants, family and friends, local councillors and officials were invited and the video work was very well received. All participants were given a copy of the final DVD featuring all the short videos made.
Peter Dibdin worked alongside Fin Macrae to help with some technical aspects and produce the final DVD. Unfortunately the trainee participant for the Fort William project had to withdraw early on in the project and no replacement was found.
A small group from the Upper Achintore Youth Club spent one month working on the storyboard, filming and editing of this film which features a love story and some chocolate cake!
A group of boys formed the Plantation Video Club and worked for the full three month residency on this film. It is a commentary on life in the Plantation and the attitudes towards some of the problems they feel exist in the place they live.
The Nights Final
A compilation of the final of the pool competition at the Plantation Youth Club. Working closely with one young person from the Pupil Support Base from Lochaber High School over 10 weeks the artist Fin Macrae and the young person edited the raw material and added the soundtrack and titles.
This film features images from the road junction of the bridge crossing the River Lochy contrasted with images from further upstream. This project was developed over 10 weeks with a pupil from the Pupil Support Base, Lochaber High School.
This short film was made with one of the participants from the ‘Lifestyles’ project in the duration of one week. The script, story and acting were all done by the same person and is a moral about choices.
The Smokin’ Guitarist
This short film was made with one of the participants from the ‘Lifestyles’ project in the duration of one week. It features his own surroundings and his own guitar playing.
